रिश्वत-
किसी कार्य को करने के लिए किसी सक्षम व्यक्ति द्वारा लिया गया पैसा सुविधा इतिहास को रिश्वत कहा जाता है इसी को सादर भाषा में घूस कहते हैं।
भाई भतीजावाद-
किसी सच्चे व्यक्ति द्वारा केवल अपने सगे संबंधियों को कोई सुविधा लाभ अथवा पद प्रदान करना ही भाई भतीजावाद है।आज नौकरियों तथा सरकारी सुविधाओं अथवा योजनाओं के क्रियान्वयन के समय समर्थ लोग अपने बेटा-बेटी भाई भतीजा आज सगे संबंधियों को लाभ पहुंचाते हैं।
कमीशन-
किसी विशेष वस्तु अथवा सेवा के सौदे में किसी सक्षम व्यक्ति द्वारा सऊदी के बदले में विक्रेता अथवा सुविधा प्रदाता से कुल सौदे के मूल्य का एक निश्चित प्रतिशत प्राप्त करना कमीशन है।
यौन शोषण-
यह भ्रष्टाचार का सर्वथा नवीन रूप है। इसमें प्रभावशाली व्यक्ति विपरीत लिंग के व्यक्ति को अपने प्रभाव का प्रयोग करते हुए अनुचित लाभ पहुंचाने के बदले उसका यौन शोषण करता है।

महंगी शिक्षा-
शिक्षा के व्यवसायीकरण ने उसे अत्यधिक महंगा कर दिया है आज जब एक युवा शिक्षा पर लाखों रुपए खर्च करके किसी पद पर पहुंचता है तो उसका सबसे पहला लक्ष्य यही होता है कि उसने अपनी शिक्षा पर जो खर्च किया है उसे किसी भी उचित अनुचित रूप से ब्याज सहित वसूले।उसकी यही सोच उसे भ्रष्टाचार के दलदल में धकेल देती है और फिर वह चाह कर भी इस से निकल नहीं पाता।
लचर न्याय व्यवस्था-
लचर न्याय व्यवस्था भी भ्रष्टाचार का एक मुख्य कारण है प्रभावशाली लोग अपने धन और बाहुबल के सहारे अरबों खरबों के घोटाले करके साफ बच निकलते हैं जिसमें युवा वर्ग इस बात के लिए प्रेरित होता है कि यदि व्यक्ति के पास पर्याप्त धन है तो उसका कोई कुछ नहीं बिगाड़ सकता बस यही धारणा उसे अत्यधिक धन प्राप्त करने के लिए भ्रष्टाचार की अंधी गली में धकेल देती है जहां से वह फिर कभी नहीं निकल पाता।
जन जागरण का अभाव-
हमारे देश की अधिकतर जनता अपने अधिकारों से अनभिज्ञ है जिसका लाभ उठाकर प्रभावशाली लोग उसका शोषण करते हैं और जनता चुपचाप भ्रष्टाचार की चक्की में पिसती रहती है।
d)भ्रष्टाचार को दूर करने के उपाय –
भ्रष्टाचार को दूर करने के कुछ मुख्य उपाय निम्नलिखित हैं।
जन आंदोलन-
भ्रष्टाचार को रोकने का सबसे मुख्य और महत्वपूर्ण उपाय जन आंदोलन है।जन आंदोलन के द्वारा लोगों को उनके अधिकारों का ज्ञान फैलाकर इस पर लगाम लगाई जा सकती है।
कठोर कानून-
कठोर कानून बनाकर ही भ्रष्टाचार पर रोक लगाई जा सकती है यदि लोगों को पता हो कि भ्रष्टाचार करने वाला कोई भी व्यक्ति सजा से नहीं बच सकता तो प्रत्येक व्यक्ति अनुचित कार्य करने से पहले हजार बार सोचेगा।
निशुल्क उच्च शिक्षा-
भ्रष्टाचार पर पूरी तरह लगाम तभी लगाई जा सकती है जब देश के प्रत्येक युवा को निशुल्क उच्च शिक्षा का अधिकार प्राप्त होगा। यद्यपि अभी ऐसा किया जाना संभव नहीं दिखता लेकिन 14 वर्ष के बच्चों को निशुल्क अनिवार्य शिक्षा का अधिकार प्रदान करना इस दिशा में उठाया गया महत्वपूर्ण कदम है।
पारदर्शिता-
देश और जनहित के प्रत्येक कार्य में पारदर्शिता लाकर भी भ्रष्टाचार को रोका जा सकता है क्योंकि अधिकांश भ्रष्टाचार गोपनीयता के नाम पर ही होता है।
कार्यस्थल पर व्यक्ति की सुरक्षा और संरक्षण-
कार्यस्थल पर प्रत्येक व्यक्ति को अपने अधिकार और कर्तव्यों का निर्वाह करते हुए कार्य करने के लिए यह आवश्यक है कि उसे पर्याप्त सुरक्षा तथा संरक्षण प्राप्त हो, जिससे व्यक्ति निडर होकर अपना कार्य पूरी ईमानदारी के साथ कर सके।यदि कार्यकारी व्यक्ति को पूर्ण सुरक्षा और संरक्षण मिले तो धनबल और बाहुबल का भय दिखाकर कोई भी व्यक्ति अनुचित कार्य करने के लिए किसी को विवश नहीं कर सकता।महिला कर्मियों के लिए तो कार्यस्थल पर सुरक्षा और संरक्षण देने हेतु कानून बनाया जा चुका है, जिससे उनका यौन शोषण रोका जा सके। यद्यपि इस कानून को और अधिक व्यापक तथा प्रभावी बनाने की आवश्यकता है।
